The cross-sectional pediatric body imaging service encompasses CT and MRI of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. We have one the most robust pediatric MRI services in the world, with a focus on bringing innovation to clinical care. A large proportion of our MRI service is based on techniques developed in-house through collaborations with industry as well as scientists and engineers in the department of Radiology as well as Electrical Engineering at Stanford and UC Berkeley. A major goal of the clinical service is to leverage deep integration & relationships with SCH clinical service lines to understand relevant clinical problems and design MRI exams and protocols that can provide answers while minimizing scan time and need for anesthesia. We also have a particular focus on developing MRI methods to help answer clinical questions, if existing MRI methods are insufficient.
